Learn the entire investigative process—from DNA data to identification
Maintain control of evidence and reporting
Use existing training or grant funds—no new budget required

Your agency has evidence sitting in storage, waiting for lab funding or approval.
You’ve paid thousands for outsourced FGG work with no clear results or reports.
You’ve been told to “wait for a bigger match” while your case collects dust.
Your agency doesn’t have an investigative budget, and vendor quotes are out of reach.
You want to solve cases faster but don’t have anyone trained to run the process.

Proven to reduce costs and time-to-ID
A: The full program runs 12 weeks, with short weekly modules you can complete on your schedule. Most detectives spend 3–5 hours per week including live calls. It’s structured for working investigators — not full-time students.
A: Yes. Agencies that apply this system typically save about $5,000 per case compared to vendor outsourcing. More importantly, your team gains control - no vendor bottlenecks, no third-party evidence handling, and no waiting months for updates.
A: No. The program assumes no prior experience. You’ll learn how to read results, build trees, and interpret matches using clear, step-by-step methods designed for detectives, not scientists.
A: Yes. Graduates receive a certificate verifying successful completion of the GGLE Academy - confirming mastery of the H.E.L.I.X. Method™. Many agencies use it to document specialized investigative training for internal records or advancement.
A: College programs teach theory. This training teaches results. The GGLE Academy uses the same field-tested process that cleared a 30-year-old cold case in 48 hours. It’s built for detectives who need actionable steps, not academic discussions. You’ll leave with a proven workflow you can use on real cases, not just a grade.
A: Graduates can continue into our GGLE Field Training™, where you’ll work live cases with live guided support. This ensures your agency doesn’t just learn the system, you implement it.
A: The GGLE Academy runs four live cohorts per year, beginning in January, April, July, and October. Each session opens on the Monday before the first live Wednesday class to allow time for access setup and orientation.
Winter 2026 Cohort: Begins Monday, January 5, 2026
Spring 2026 Cohort: Begins Monday, April 6, 2026
Summer 2026 Cohort: Begins Monday, July 6, 2026
Fall 2026 Cohort: Begins Monday, October 5, 2026
Each 12-week session includes weekly live classes on Wednesdays, along with on-demand lessons, real-world case exercises, and support through the investigator community. Enrollment typically opens 30 days before each start date, allowing time for agency purchasing or approval.
A: Yes. Agencies can enroll multiple investigators in the same cohort or spread them across different start dates. Each investigator receives individual portal access, live-class participation, and certification upon completion. For departments purchasing five or more seats, bulk invoicing and administrative tracking are available. Training funds—not investigative or lab budgets—typically cover the cost. If your agency plans a group enrollment, contact the GGLE Academy directly to coordinate seat assignments, billing, and onboarding before the next cohort begins.
A: Yes. Most agencies use training or professional development allocations within existing grants to fund enrollment. Because the GGLE Academy builds in-house investigative capability not lab work it qualifies as training expenditure, not as an investigative or forensic services cost.
Agencies have successfully used:
Byrne Justice Assistance Grants (JAG)
Paul Coverdell Forensic Science Improvement Grants
State or regional training allocations
If your agency already receives federal or state funding, our team can provide the documentation language needed to classify the Academy under “Law Enforcement Training and Professional Development.”
Yes. Every student must have an Ancestry.com account to complete the hands-on genetic genealogy exercises in the GGLE Academy®.
You can use a paid account or start a free trial if you don’t already have one. It is not recommended to share an account during the training. Live classes are held over Zoom, and every student must have live video and audio access to be admitted to the live calls and to verify attendance.
